Job Description
Commandeur Mechanical is looking for a true go-getter for a Service Advisor position. This is a key role in the organization, being first contact for our customers, and the face of the business.
As a Service Advisor, you will be responsible for our customer’s experience and will be the customer’s first and last point of contact. You will need to be well-versed in discussing vehicle concerns, inventory needs, technician scheduling, and customer service. From greeting vehicle owners, to explaining the repair process, our Service Advisor is a true professional who enjoys helping others.

1.) Customer Service
Greet all customers in a timely manner with a smile, whether in person or on the phone. Ensure the next customer in line waiting is acknowledged.
Determines automotive problems and services by listening to customer’s description of symptoms, clarifying description of problems, checking vehicle maintenance records, and examining service schedules.
Maintains automotive records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
Work with the manager and technicians to ensure work is completed in a timely manner for the customer.
Handle customer complaints and disputes in a professional manner.
Coordinate scheduling of appointments.
Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Pick-up and drop-off of customers when necessary – courtesy shuttle
2.) Work Order Management
Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required.
Obtains approval signatures and enters RO into service database system.
Ensure that all work orders are invoiced when the vehicle leaves the property.
Update and post work orders daily. Ensure detailed notes are entered onto open work orders.
Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor.
Writes repair orders and maintains customer rapport and records.
Provide detailed and accurate estimates for customers. Explain estimates and expected return of vehicle, obtain customer’s approval of estimates, obtain contact information, answering questions and concerns.
Receive all parts on to work order.
Ensure payments are processed correctly and any errors are reported immediately.
3.) Parts
Order all parts required for customer work orders
Receive all parts for customer work orders, inventory and expenses.
Maintain parts room inventory levels for common products used.
Manage return of all unneeded product and follow up on credits from suppliers.
Ensure we are getting the best pricing available for the quality of product.

Other Requirements:
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
2-plus years’ experience in automotive or related industry- specifically relating to job estimating, sales, invoicing, scheduling, parts receiving etc.
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to communicate confidently
Highly organized, attentive to details and strong analytical skills
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced, ever changing high-volume environment
Physically capable of lifting and moving items up to 50lbs+
Filing, organizing and planning skills
Proficient in computer software including MS office suite, and web based inventory systems, CRM software, MS Excel, MS word and MS Outlook.

5.) Professional Development
Develop personal skills and capabilities through ongoing training as provided by the company or elsewhere, subject to company approval
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading manufacturers’ publications.
6.) Perform other related duties as required…
· Current, valid driver’s license, with no accidents or claims in previous 5 years.
